A volunteer-run nonprofit in Independence that restores, preserves and runs Southern Pacific narrow gauge locomotive #18, known as the Slim Princess. The locomotive is kept at the Eastern California Museum and runs during public steam-up events. The group also hosts a community Trash Can Tri-Tip dinner at the Legion Hall in Independence. Railroad days are open to the public, and photographers are welcome to come and shoot. Memberships and donations help pay for the work.
