The Mono County Children and Families Commission, which supports children from before birth to age five and their families. Its programs include home visiting, oral health, childcare quality, school readiness and Raising a Reader. It also runs free Peapod Playgroups for parents and young children, with sessions at places like the Mammoth Lakes Community Center, the Mammoth Lakes Infant Center and the Chalfant Community Center. The Commission holds public meetings at the Mono County Office of Education in Mammoth Lakes. Anyone can attend and speak during public comment.
