The chamber of commerce and visitor center for Lone Pine, in the Owens Valley south of Bishop. The office is at 120 South Main Street, in the historic Lone Pine Hotel building, where visitors can browse racks of information and ask questions about the area. The chamber’s website points people to places to stay, eat, hike, fish and camp, and to nearby sights like Mt. Whitney, the Alabama Hills, Manzanar and Death Valley. It also keeps a calendar of local events and takes event submissions. Events it hosts or promotes include the Inyo County Amateur Photo Contest, the Lone Pine Film Festival, the Wild West Marathon and the Badwater 135 ultramarathon. Local businesses can join as members.
