A Mono County public health program that works to help people quit smoking, vaping and chewing tobacco, keep young people from starting, and protect others from secondhand smoke and tobacco litter. It offers resources for parents in English and Spanish, and free no-smoking and no-vaping signs for apartment complexes and storefront businesses in the Town of Mammoth Lakes and unincorporated Mono County. It also runs free community wellness classes at the Chalfant Community Center, including yoga and qi gong, open to local residents. People who want to get involved can join the Mono Prevention Coalition, which holds quarterly meetings. The program is part of Mono County Health and Human Services, based at 1290 Tavern Road in Mammoth Lakes.
