The JMT Wilderness Conservancy

A nonprofit that works to restore Sierra Nevada meadows, riverbank and wilderness habitat along the John Muir Trail corridor in the Inyo National Forest, from Mt. Whitney to Donahue Pass. Its work includes meadow and riverbank restoration, habitat recovery for endangered species, a student-staffed field monitoring program, public education, and funding for backcountry improvements such as bridges and campgrounds. Its public events are outdoors, like a groundbreaking ceremony for the Reds Meadow Valley restoration at Agnew Meadows Campground. They suit hikers, campers and anyone curious about how the backcountry is cared for.
