A dispersed camping area along Mammoth Scenic Loop, about 4.4 miles from US-395 near Mammoth Lakes. It is on Inyo National Forest land, with informal sites reached by Forest Service spur roads off the paved road. The sites are undeveloped. There is no water, no restrooms and no trash service, so campers bring what they need and pack out what they bring. Campfire rules apply at certain times of year. The Scenic Loop can close for forest health work, so it is worth checking the Forest Service alert page before heading out. The area also hosts community events, such as a campground cleanup with Mono County Recreation.
