A steep canyon on the upper Owens River northwest of Bishop, reached by Gorge Road off US-395 at the Paradise Swall Meadows exit. The gorge is cut through volcanic tuff and is used for sport climbing, hiking and fishing, with hundreds of bolted climbing routes on its walls. The land is owned by the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. Public access is sometimes closed for set periods, so check for notices before heading out.
