Hawaiian Lei Workshop with Kymberlee @ C5 Studios

Aloha e komo mai — hello and welcome! This three-hour hands-on workshop offers a rare opportunity to immerse yourself in Hawaiian culture and learn the time-honored art of lei making. The workshop opens with a Hawaiian blessing, then covers the history, etiquette, and crafting styles of lei along with the meaning of specific flowers. Participants will leave with a basic body adornment to take home and share. All materials are provided, with flowers hand-selected from local flower farm Happiness Blooms. Participants are also encouraged to bring flowers or greenery from their own gardens to explore how local flora can be incorporated. Best suited for those with some basic crafting skills. Instructor Kymberlee Nalumaluhia has studied hula under master kumu Ainsley Halemanu, performed in Waikiki, and has taught hula and lei making in Bishop for over 15 years.
