Landscape Transformation Groundbreaking @ Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center

Join the Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center, the Bishop Paiute Tribe, and partners Watershed Progressive and Land Resilience Partnership for a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of a major landscape transformation project on tribal land surrounding the Cultural Center and Museum. The project — funded largely through the California Department of Water Resources Landscape Transformation Pilot Program — aims to support Paiute Shoshone cultural lifeways and the long-term health and climate resilience of the land. The celebration includes a complimentary brunch table, inspiring words from Tribal Council and partners, visuals of the design, and a demonstration table of plant samples and outreach opportunities. Installation work begins October 2026 with a projected completion of Fall 2027. For information call 760-873-8844.
