Meet the Author of Deep Time in the Mono Lake Basin @ Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center

Stop by the Mammoth Lakes Welcome Center anytime between noon and 4 pm on Friday, August 21 to meet historian Robert B. Marks, author of Deep Time in the Mono Lake Basin, and have your copy signed. In this sweeping 10,000-year history, Marks examines the forces that shaped the Mono Basin’s rich and complex ecosystem — from Indigenous peoples and Euro-American settlement to the dispossession of the Kootzaduka’a, hydroelectric development, Los Angeles water diversions, and the ecological restoration movement that followed. Dr. Marks will be on hand to discuss the book and answer questions. The event is free and open to the public; no registration required.
