The local chapter of the California Native Plant Society, serving Mono and Inyo Counties and northeastern Kern County. It covers the east slope of the Sierra Nevada, the Owens Valley, the Inyo and White Mountains, and the Northern Mojave Desert. The chapter holds meetings, field trips, plant sales in Bishop, and other events for anyone curious about native plants. Its meetings feature guest speakers, such as a fall talk on landscape-scale forest management at the Inyo County Office of Education. The chapter also runs a native plant garden and gardening resources, and gives a yearly botanical research and education grant. Members and newcomers are both welcome.
