A public fire agency serving the Mammoth Lakes community in Mono County. It provides fire protection, emergency medical services and fire prevention. It also runs the Mammoth Lakes Wildfire Task Force, a joint effort with the Town of Mammoth Lakes and partner agencies to help the community get ready for wildfire. The work includes defensible space evaluations, home hardening education, ladder fuels reduction, green waste pickup and community outreach events. One of those is a community barbecue at the east end of Majestic Pines Road. The district is governed by an elected Board of Commissioners.
