The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power’s Eastern Sierra operations, based at 300 Mandich Street in Bishop. LADWP owns and manages land across Inyo and Mono counties, and much of it is open for recreation such as fishing, hiking, camping in developed campgrounds, and rock climbing. It runs the Los Angeles Aqueduct and power generation in the region, and works on environmental stewardship. For locals and visitors, it shares updates on snow surveys, lake closures and fire restrictions, and holds public meetings such as the Inyo/LA Standing Committee. It also hosts virtual job fairs, supports community groups in both counties, and puts out a quarterly newsletter, Discover LADWP in the Eastern Sierra.
