The Mono County Children and Families Commission, which offers programs for children from prenatal to age five and their families across Mono County. Its office is at 365 Sierra Park Road, Bldg. M, in Mammoth Lakes, in the Mammoth High School parking lot. Programs include Welcome Baby & Healthy Families Home Visiting, Peapod Playgroups, the Childcare Quality System, oral health, school readiness and Raising a Reader. Parent and child Peapod Playgroups meet at places such as the Mammoth Lakes Community Center. The commission also holds public meetings in Mammoth Lakes, and anyone is welcome to attend and comment.
