The fire station for the Wheeler Crest Fire Protection District, an all-volunteer department at 129 Willow Rd in Swall Meadows. The district provides fire protection and first responder medical care to Swall Meadows, neighboring communities, the heavily traveled Highway 395 and the wildland around it. The station houses a fleet of four fire trucks, two engines and two water tenders. It also works as a community meeting place. The Mono County Flu Clinic is one of the public events held there, and the district holds its board of directors meetings in the community as well.
