Food Waste Prevention Taskforce Meeting

The Food Waste Prevention, Recovery, and Redistribution Taskforce is a monthly online meeting bringing together community members, local organizations, and agency partners interested in reducing food waste and increasing nutrition security in the Eastern Sierra. Topics may include community composting, local food donation opportunities, edible food recovery programs, and California’s SB 1383 Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Program, which mandates stronger infrastructure for edible food redistribution. The goal is to divert edible food from the waste stream and connect healthy food to residents in need. Meetings are held via Zoom on the third Wednesday of each month, 9–10 a.m. PDT.
