Reds Meadow Valley Restoration Groundbreaking Ceremony @ Agnew Meadows Campground

A public groundbreaking ceremony marks the launch of a major four-year habitat restoration project in Reds Meadow Valley, led by the JMT Wilderness Conservancy. The project will restore high-elevation meadows and riparian habitat along six miles of the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River west of Mammoth Lakes, focusing on two large meadows and four recreation sites. Project goals include improving wildlife habitat, supporting wildfire resilience, enhancing water sustainability, and protecting this iconic Eastern Sierra landscape for future generations. The ceremony is open to the public and takes place at Agnew Meadows Campground at 1 PM.
