Bishop Community Garden Expansion Celebration

The public is invited to celebrate the successful completion of the Bishop Community Garden’s Expansion and Enhancement Project on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The garden is located directly behind Bishop City Park; park on Spruce Street near the Senior Center and follow the Pine to Park Pathway south to the garden. The celebration is a formal thank-you to the many individuals, businesses, and volunteers whose time, labor, and contributions made the project possible. The Bishop Chamber of Commerce will provide complimentary craft beer floats for a community-wide toast. The $138,000+ expansion was funded through a California Natural Resources Agency Urban Greening Grant and was coordinated almost entirely by local volunteers over three years. Day-to-day operations remain 98% volunteer-run.
